Ready to Get Back on Track?

“If someone else tries to light that fire under you, chances are it will burn very briefly.” – Stephen R Covey

It can happen to anyone! Your best moments in life have disappeared and you have little or no energy to exercise or do anything else. You may even feel mentally and emotionally drained. All your excitement of accomplishing your goals is suddenly gone.

What can you do?

The first thing to do when you’ve lost your motivation is to face the situation head on and then correct it. Motivation is the energy that keeps you trying one more time when everything around you says ‘give up’.

Write down your dream to transform it into a goal. A goal can be considered a dream with a deadline and one that also matches your desires as you set aside any obstacles of time money and obligation. Turning a dream into a reality requires determination, discipline and a LOT of hard work. And here’s probably the most important part…you can’t achieve these goals for anyone else but you!

Building self-confidence is necessary for you to take charge of your life to make the necessary changes for personal happiness in every aspect of your life including your health.  If you lack self-confidence it can keep you ‘stuck’ in life. The first step is to acknowledge and take ownership of where you are and how you feel now to start that road to developing self-confidence and self-worth again.

Make your goals challenging but possible! Force yourself to leave your comfort zone and be as specific as you can with your goal including a solid deadline. Share your goals with others for motivation.  But again, be careful to work on your goals for yourself and not someone else.

Whether you are new to exercise or you’ve been working out on your own for a long time, using a personal trainer can give you that extra motivation. But you’ve got to show up for the experience, body and soul, and be really clear about creating a two-way exchange that works for you. Make sure you’re ready to do your share of the work required to get what you want out of it. A personal trainer is a guide and a great resource, but your goals are yours and you have to own them yourself!
So what’s stopping you today from starting on a new goal?
